PACKAGE OF PRACTICES FOR TISSUE CULTURE SUGARCANE FOR SEED PRODUCTION
Initial Care:
After transportation the Polybag plants are to be unloaded in shade condition. The plants are to be banked properly. Water spraying has to be done immediately. The plants are to be planted with in a day or two in the main field.
Field Preparation:
5-6 Times deep ploughing to achieve good tilth.
Basal Application:
FYM / Pressmud - 10 MT / acre before the last ploughing.
Formation of Ridges & Furrows:
To form Ridges and Furrows with 5 X 2 feet spacing.
Seed Rate:
5000 Tissue culture plants required for one acre.
Planting:
Apply 2 bags of DAP & SEVIDOL 5kg / acre in the furrows. At the time of Planting the polybag should completely removed without disturbing the rootball of the plant. Irrigate immediately after planting.
Herbicide:
Spary Atrazine- 1kg /ac 1st day of planting. Care should be taken to see that the spray is done in the backward direction.
Sugar Cane
Integrated Fertilizer Management:
The fertilizer application has to be done based on the soil testing. Any way we are giving the Recommendation for Tissue Culture plants as 165 : 40 : 70 kgs of NPK /ac.

Bio- Fertilizer:
Azospirillum -5kg
Phosphobacteria - 5kg –Apply in 45th &75th day after planting.
Weed management:
Keep the field without weeds for first 90 days after planting
Earthing up:
Light earthing up should be carried out after the 1st manuring and the heavy earthingup should be carried out on 90th day after planting.
Irrigation:
There are 38 Irirgations totally required for sugarcane cultivation.

In case of wet land cultivation the drainage has to be provided during the rainy season to avoid the water logging.
Growth promotors:
Spray 180 ml of Cytozyme / Biozyme on 45th & 90th day after planting.
Micro nutrients:
2kgZnso4 +2kg Feso4 +2kgDAP +1kg Urea +100 lit of Water. Spray this solution at 45th & 60th day after planting.
Harvesting:
The Tissue Culture Cane can be harvested on 7 th month as First harvest which can be used as seed material and a second harvest on 13 th month which can be used as a seed material and the third harvest can be done after 10 months and the cane can be supplied to factory crushing. This is applicable to high Sucrose early canes.
Yield:
An increase in yield of 40 % is possible by Tissue Culture cane compared to conventional setts planting.
