Analytical and Advisory Services
Environmental analysis has become an important component of Environmental management. Due to unrestrained release of industrial wastes, the soil and water eco-systems have become sinks of many of the pollutants including toxic heavy metals. Having realized the problem of pollution, many of the farmers are very much interested to know the quality of terms of nutrients and presence of toxic metals that may affect the soil and plant eco-systems. In addition, the imposition of stringent rules and regulation by both central and state governments, many of the industries are forced to take up measures to the eco-systems. The quality of compost produced by farmers as well as private entrepreneurs also requires analysis of constituents of the samples. The presence and level of growth hormones in organic liquid formulation are also analyzed on cost basis at the analytical unit functioning in the Department of Environmental Sciences.
Analysis of solid and liquid samples received from farmers and private entrepreneurs are being taken up to assess their quality at the rates fixed by the university;
