Symptoms

• Minute specks surrounded by a pale green halo
• Spots with greyish white centre and deep brown margin are visible on the leaf
• Spots coalesce to form brown patches restricted by veins

Identification of pathogen

• Cluster of conidiophores emerge through stomata or epidermis
• Conidia are elongated, slightly curved, multiseptate, truncate at the base and narrow at the tip

Favourable Conditions

• High relative humidity and temperature between 24-29° C
• Leaf wetness during night with dry conditions during the day

Mode of Spread and Survival

• Dormant mycelium in the plant debris
• Spreads through wind borne conidia
