  • Lower leaves drop before wilting .
  • Yellow brown discolouration of tissues.
  • White bacterial ooze from cut ends.

Survival :

  • Infected plants and soil

Primary spread:

  • Infected plants

Secondary spread:

  • Wounds, soil and implements

Favourable conditions

  • High soil moisture.

Integrated Disease Management

  • Crop rotation
  • Disease free seedlings.
  • Restriction of irrigation.
  • Drenching with bleaching powder @ 4 kg/ac
  • Soil application of neem cake @ 100 kg/acre
