It is being cultivated in Vallathodu village at Kanchipuram district. The sowing season is Adipattam. The seed rate is 55 kg/ac. It is resistant to pest and diseases. It yields about 16 bags/ac (75 kg/bag). This variety is in existence for more than 100 years.
