Nattu Milagu – Pepper
Nattu milagu is small when compared to normal milagu but the spiciness is more than the later. Though the yield is less, its quality is good. It is cultivated through twines in kolli hills of Namakkal district. The twines are cut into small pieces and planted near the support (preferably a tree). Generally, it sets flower during may-june (Vaigasi-Aadi season) and starts bearing during March. Harvesting is done by plucking the berry bunches. From each tree, nearly 10 kg of pepper is obtained.
