The crop can be cultivated in Vilupuram district. The name of the variety is Padappai. The method of propagation is by stem cutting from pistil late plants. Crop spacing is 2x2m. the crop needs a special practice like erection of pandal or trellis and also training the crop. Harvesting starts from 6 months after planting and continues upto though out the year. The yield varies from6-8 tonnes/acre.
