Curry leaf
The curry leaf crop is grown as mixed crop in Thangachimadam areas of Ramnad (10 cents in one acre) and 2000 trees can be grown. They are picked in every months and the yield is 3000 kg/ac (The rate is Rs.5/kg.) and they are transported to Paramakudi and Rameshwaram markets. It is suitable for coastal sandy soils. Goat manure is used for this crop. They are resistant to pest and diseases. Normally the soil is very fine coastal sandy in nature, the crop comes very well because of the availability of water at lower depth.
