Nattu Pusani-Pumpkin
The traditional pumpkin is sown in rainfed condition and grown in Ramnad district. The matured crop weighs about 20 kg. it is sown in the month of Aadi (July and August) and harvested in the month of Thai(January). Each pit is 2.5 feet depth. Thereafter thinning operations can be performed after growth of more seedlings. The seeds are kept by farmer themselves in previous year harvest.
