  2. What is the advantage of incorporation of fertilizers with soil?
It fertilizers are incorporated into the soil, losses can be presented and availability of nutrients can be increase.

  3. How can we differentiate the differences between deficiency symptoms and disease symptoms?
Deficiency symptoms appear in either young or older leaves/size of leaf affected. Fungal disease comes in the rainy season and highly tumid climate in leaves of all ages

  4. What is the importance of Trichoderma viride seed treatment in groundnut?
Dry seed treatment of Trichoderma viride prevents root rot diseases in groundnut.

  5. What is the right time for application of gypsum in groundnut?
200kg/ ha at the time of basal application. Peg formation stage (40-45 DAS) @ 200kg/ha

  6. Is there Trichoderma viride good for all type of soils in groundnut cultivation?
Trichoderma viride is best suitable for soils having PH of 6.5 to 7.5.  Those soils have PH more than 7.5 or less than 6.5, T. viride has not performing well.

  7. Is there chance to decline the soil fertility if we cultivate sunflower continuously?
Crop rotation is very important to maintain soil fertility.  If we continuously cultivate a same crop definitely soil fertility will decline.

  8. What is the seed material for azolla?
Azolla is a algae to cultivate azolla in larger amount we using the azolla plant as seed material the azolla has ability to multiply it self

  9. TURMERIC MICRONUTRIENT DEFICIENCY
In Turmeric, the leaves are yellow on the upper surface, but remain green at the base with interveinal chlorosis. How to correct this problem?
This is mainly due to phosphorus induced micro nutrient deficiency in turmeric. It may be corrected by foliar application of Fe, Zn, and B.
To correct this, 6 kg of super phosphate is dissolved in 10 lit of water and kept  overnight. Then, to the supernatant solution the following salts are added. Turmeric micronutrient deficiency

    • Urea                             150g

    • Magnesium sulphate 150g

    • Borax                           150g

    • Zinc sulphate                 150g

    • Ferros sulphate              150g

To this, 100 lit of water is added and mixed thoroughly and foliar spraying at 15 days intervals until the symptoms disappear.

  1. Button shedding
How to control button drying and shedding in Coconut?
In coconut, button drying and shedding occurs due to Boron deficiency.
    This can be corrected by
    Basal application of Borax @ 250 g/tree.
    (Or)
Root feeding of Boron @ 200 ml/tree at four months interval (5 g of Borax is dissolved in 1 lit water)

Tell about DAP foliar spray for pulses

  • 2% DAP foliar spray to be taken up during flowering pod formation srtage

Gypsum application for cotton

  • For irrigated groundnut, gypsum is applied @200kg/ha as basal and 200kg /ha as top dressing on 40 th day when first earthing up is done. For rainfed ground nut 200kg gypsum per hecatare is applied at frst weeding coinciding with rains.

Correction of nutrient deficiency for various crops
Corrective measures Viz., foliar application of macro and micro nutrients for various crops at different stages of crop growth.

While planting grafts, should the graft union be above or below the soil surface?
The graft union should be above the soil surface.
How to increase flowering in mango?
  • During August and September, prune the branches that had fruits during the previous season (cut back 10 cm)
  • Spray 5 gm urea/ lt or 10 g potassium nitrate/ litre on the leaf surface.
  • Based on the age of the tree, prepare Paclobutrazol 5 -10 ml/ 15 lt of water and apply in the gound by taking furrows in roud shape around the tree and pouring the liquid evenly by making holes in 10-15 places in the round . irrigation should be done copiously.

How to control flower and bud shedding in mango?
When the buds are at pea nut size spray planofix @ 1 ml /4.5 lt water once and when they are at pebble size spray the liquid once more. This not only prevents bud shedding but also increases the quality of the fruit.

In mango, is it necessary to apply fertilizers through out the year? If it is so what fertilizers should be applied and at what time?
In mango it is highly necessary to apply fertilizers throughout the year.
1-5 year  - 10 kg decomposed FYM + 200 g N, 200 g P and 200 g K. Apply the same quantity each year by slowly increasing the quantity every year.
6 th year onwards – 50 kg decomposed FYM + I kg N, 1 kg P and I.5 kg K

What is the method of sett treatment for tapioca? What is the sequence of sett treatment in tapioca?

Answer:
Dip the setts in carbendazim 1 g /litre of water for 15 minutes before planting.
For rainfed conditions, treat the setts with a mixture of Potassium chloride @ 5 g / litre and micronutrients namely ZnSo4   and FeSo4 each @ 5 g / litre for 20 minutes.
Dip the setts for 20 minutes Azospirillum and Phoshobacteria solution each @ 30 g / litre of water.
