                      Pre-emergence:       Spray Pendimethalin @ 3.3 lit /ha (1.0 kg a.i/ha) at third day after       sowing, followed by one hand weeding at 35 - 40 days after sowing  
                      Early post  emergence:  Spray Imazethapyr herbicide @ 0.75 kg a.i/ha at 15 - 20 DAS followed by hand weeding  on  35  - 40 days after sowing  
                      If herbicide not applied, two       hand weeding at 20 and 40 days after sowing Note:  HARVESTINGAt the time of herbicide application, field must  have sufficient / optimum soil moisture condition for effective weed control.
 
 Maturity symptoms
 
                      Drying       and falling of older leaves and yellowing of the top leavesInner       shell of the matured pod is brownish black Harvesting 
                      If       the soil is dry, irrigate the field 3-5 days prior to harvestFor       pod stripping, use groundnut stripper developed by TNAUPods       should be dried under the sunlight twice for 2 - 3 days at an interval of       2 - 3 days      |  |  |
