            | Homologous Vaccine against Peste  Des Petits Ruminants 
                PPR is an acute, highly contagious and  fatal rinderpest like disease of small ruminants and in unprotected animals the  mortality may reach 60-70%.PPR virus first reported in India in  1987 from an outbreak in Tamil Nadu and since then the disease was reported  from all over the country.The vaccine contains live PPR virus  adapted and attenuated in vero cells by serial passage for 75 times.Field trials were conducted using 50,000  doses in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and West Bengal. |  |
