Rice root nematode, Hirschmanniella oryzae, H. mucronata

Symptoms

• Infested roots show discoloration and partially hollow.
• Feeding adversely affects absorption of water and nutrients.
• Plants show stunted growth in patches.
• Reduced on tillers

Management

• Nursery treatment with carbofuran at 175 g / cent nursery and 33 kg/ha in main field.
• Pseudomonas fluorescens  as seed treatment (10g/kg seed), seedling root dip(1.5kg/ha) and Soil application @ 2.5 kg/ha in main field
