BSR.1 (1995)

It is a selection from Thimbam local developed at Agricultural Research Station, Bhavnisagar. A high yielder produces 155 kg of fruits per tree per year. It can be cultivated throughout Tamil Nadu. The trees are medium in height, spreading and hence suitable for accommodating more number of trees per unit area (6x6m spacing). The fruits are medium in size (27g) and born in clusters. The fruits contain more flesh, less phenol content and high ascorbic acid content (610 mg/100g). Each fruit has six segments; the juice has a TSS of 18.1°brix.
