Even within the  traditional varieties, especially in red guava ther are two forms, one which  has a pointed end with less taste and the other which is round shaped with good  taste. One basket containing 10-25 kg of fruit. The cost of one basket is  Rs.30-40/-.The reason for  existence of such traditional guava variety still at kolli hills is because;
                Government variety doesn’t suit to the climatic condition prevailing at kolli hills.Even if a same tree bears fruit, due to the harder skin, it has less or no market preference. So obviously, it loses its position in cultivation. |
