Agricultural Engineering
Women population is nearly half of the population and the empowerment to this population is equally important in the nation’s development. Rural women are taking the responsibilities both at farm and Home. In both places they have to work. So for their better health, productivity and efficiency we have conducted many training programmes for the benefit of rural women. Farm women and women labour are the most important functionaries in agriculture and related activities. The drudgery prone were like transplanting, weeding harvesting become the source of physical and mental fatigue. This leads to poor health to women. The lack of right tools for work in the field is the major constrain. Hence our KVK has planned to popularize, educate the drudgery reducing equipment for maximizing efficiency and safety in use. Drudgery reducing, work efficient and safe improved technologies were transferred to the rural women/SHG members through off campus trainings. Intervention programmes were also under taken on fuel conservation, drudgery reduction and income generation. Various demonstrations were given to the rural women regarding the use of different drudgery reducing devices, fuel conservation methods, post harvest technology and income generating activities.
